Frequently Asked Questions
Increase the scale factor. If your SVG is defined at 100×100 but you export at 1× to a 100×100 PNG, it will look fine at 100px. But displayed at 200px, it'll be blurry because of upscaling. Export at 2× to get a 200×200 PNG that looks sharp at both 100px and 200px display sizes.
Yes — select 'Transparent' in the background option. The exported PNG will have a transparent (alpha) background. Choose 'White' or 'Black' when you need a specific background color, such as for email templates (which don't support PNG transparency on all clients) or when the icon will be placed on a colored background.
Possibly not. SVG files that reference external resources (Google Fonts via @import, external image URLs) may not render correctly in the browser's canvas conversion. For best results, convert external fonts to paths in your SVG editor (Illustrator: Type → Create Outlines, Inkscape: Path → Object to Path) before converting.
The PNG dimensions come from the SVG's width/height attributes or viewBox. If the SVG has width='200' height='100', the 1× PNG will be 200×100 pixels. At 2× scale: 400×200. If the SVG has no explicit size (only viewBox), the browser renders it at a default size (typically 300×150 or the viewBox dimensions).
